Introduction to AIIMS
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was established in 1956 as an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament with the objects to develop patterns of teaching in Undergraduate and Post-graduate Medical Education in all its branches so as to demonstrate a high standard of Medical Education in India.
Eligibility
Students passed Higher Secondary Examination under 10+2+3 pattern with an aggraegate of 60% marks can apply. Proficiency of English and Computers are necessary. AIIMS admits 50 students for the MBBS programme each year, out of which only 34 are available in the general category which will be filled through Entrance Examination. Nearly one lakh students were seeking admission to MBBS in AIIMS which attests its popularity. The Competitive Entrance Examination will be of three and half an hour duration. The Test paper contains 200 Objective type Questions in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge.
