Introduction to CIPET Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology

Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET) is a premier institu¬tion, fully devoted to manpower training and technical services to the Plastics and allied industries. CIPET was first es¬tablished in 1968 at Chennai under the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India with the assistance of UNDP. Presently CIPET has presence in Tamil Nadu (Chennai), Gujarat (Ahmedabad), Punjab (Amritsar), Madhya Pradesh (Bhopal), Orissa (Bhubaneswar), Andhra Pradesh (Hyderabad),Manipur (Imphal), Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow), Karnataka (Mysore), Bihar (Hajipur), West Bengal (Haldia) and Assam (Guwahati). Recently, Government of India has approved establishment of New CIPET Centres in States of Rajashthan, Maharashtra and Haryana.

CIPET admits students through Joint Entrance Examination ()EE) for admission to the following courses:

-M.Tech. (Plastics Technology En¬gineering): Eligibility BE/ B.Tech. in Mechanical / Chemical / Production / Polymer Engineering or M.Sc. in Poly¬mer Science / Chemistry with polymer specialisation.

-Postgraduate Diploma in Plastics Engineering (PGD-PE): Eligibility BE/ B.Tech./ B.Sc. Engineering (4 years) in Mechanical / Chemical / Production/ Polymer / Tool Engineering/ Electrical and Electronics / Instrumentation/Pet¬rochemical /Electrical/ Mechatronics or equivalent.

-PG Diploma in CAD / CAM for Plastic Engineering (PGD-Cad PE): Eligibility BE/B.Tech. in Mechanical/ Chemical / Production/ Polymer and Tool Engi¬neering.

-PG Diploma in Plastic Processing and Testing (PGD-PPT): Eligibility a three-year graduate degree in science with chemistry as one of the subjects.

-Post Diploma in CAD/ CAM for Plas¬tics/ Mould Design (PD-Cad PMD): Eligi¬bility three-year Diploma in Mechanical / Plastics / Chemical Technology / Tool Production Engineering Mechatronics / Automobile Engineering / Tool and Die Making / CIPET DPMT or equivalent..

- Post Diploma in Machine Main¬tenance (PD-MM): Eligibility three-year Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering / Mechatron¬ics / Instrumentation Engineering / Tool and Die Making / CIPET DPMT or equivalent.

- Diploma Post Diploma - Integrated Programme in Plastics Mould Technolo¬gy (PD-PMT/ DPMT), Plastics Technology (PD-PT/DPT): Eligibility Class X pass with mathematics, English and science.
